Canyon Lights Takedown Team Members

 The Canyon Lights Take-Down Team Member is primarily responsible for the take-down of the outdoor components from Capilano Suspension Bridge Park’s annual Canyon Lights display. Team Members are expected to coordinate their take-down tasks with the Facilities and Grounds department. They are expected to uphold Capilano’s high standard of Guest Service in all of their Guest interactions.


  • Conduct daily safety inspections on all equipment used including ladders before use.
  • Assist with the take-down of Canyon Lights,
  • Follow all reasonable directives from the Canyon Lights Installation Supervisors,
  • Comply with demonstrated standards of product take,
  • Work independently or with other Canyon Lights Team Members when required,
  • Maintain a clean inventory of supplies in the provided storage area,
  • Label and organize all broken and falling strands,
  • Advise Operations Supervisor (Lights Installation) of upcoming strand or light shortages,
  • Ensure all lights are stored properly and in a way that minimizes the chances of breakage.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as requested by the Operations Supervisor (Lights Installation).



  • Previous experience working independently and within a team environment,
  • Ability to be self motivated and work without constant supervision,
  • Previous experience with holiday lighting is an asset,
  • Previous Guest service experience an asset,
  • Previous experience or training operating a man-lift considered a strong asset,
  • Detailed oriented.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business,
  • While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time,
  • Ability to work with outside with varying weather conditions (ex. Extreme Heat, Extreme Cold, Rain, Snow),
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 40lbs,
  • Required to lift and climb a ladder and not averse to heights.
